PSSSB member sworn-in:
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday administered the oath of office and secrecy to Surinder Kaur Dayal as a member of the Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB). The function was held at the Punjab Bhawan. With Dayal's induction, the strength of the Board had risen to 12. Among others present on the occasion were former minister Hira Singh Gabria, PSSSB chairman Santa Singh Umaidpuri and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister SK Sandhu.

Dubai mishap victim cremated:
Philanthropist SP Singh Oberoi, managing trustee of Sarbat Da Bhala Trust, helped transport the body of Ranjeet Singh, who was killed in an accident in Dubai on July 30, to the Amritsar airport. The body was cremated at Nabha on Tuesday.

Bodies found in Saketri:
Fur Khan (25) of Sakteri, who is reportedly HIV positive, was found dead on a road in Sakteri on Monday night. In another incident, the body of one Munni Ram of Chattisgarh, was found at the cowshed in Saketri on Tuesday morning. The post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow.

: Congress leader Kamal Mann on Tuesday inaugurated her election office in Assandh even before the party declared its candidate for the Assandh seat. Mann is the sister-in-law of former Haryana minister Tejinder Pal Singh Mann.

No CBSE affiliation for Rohtak school
:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has withdrawn provisional affiliation of Sahi Ram Senior Secondary School, Meham, Rohtak, with immediate effect. CBSE regional officer RJ Khanderao said the school had requested to transfer the board from CBSE to Haryana.

Haryana State Child Welfare Society vice-president Asha Hooda felicitated meritorious girl students in the sphere of academics, sports and cultural activities at the Excellence Award Ceremony at MDU on Monday. The resource-person behind the award ceremony was Congress Rohtak MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra.

INLD nominee gives Rs 11 lakh to lawyers:
INLD nominee from Sirsa Makhan Lal Singla on Tuesday gave Rs 11 lakh to the District Bar Association from his funds. Besides, he gave Rs 1 lakh to the Munshi Association. Congress leader Anand Biyani called upon voters to boycott those candidates who distributed money to win votes.

Road repair begins in Ateli
: Days after former Ateli MLA and HJC leader Naresh Yadav threatened to launch a fast-unto-death if roads were not repaired, the authorities on Tuesday started relaying the Ateli-Bahrod road. Deep potholes in the road had become a major cause of road accidents.
