Engineers to protest today: Following repeated postponement of their meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who also holds the Power portfolio, the state executive committee of PSEB Engineers Association on Sunday decided to hold protests on Monday. Baldev Singh Sran, president of the executive committee, said they would protest at all regional (circle) headquarters of the state to protest the repressive attitude of the PSPCL management. "The association has decided to resume the agitation from August 15 onwards in case the PSPCL management does not hold talks with the association members, " he added.

7 scanning centres sealed: A Health Department team, led by Senior Medical Officer Dr Hari Singh, on Saturday evening sealed seven scanning centres for various alleged discrepancies found in their records. The medical officer said the department had sealed 17 scanning centres in Phillaur sub-division over the last six months on account of alleged irregularities.
