Traffic police on WhatsApp

The UT traffic police is now on WhatsApp. Commuters can send their suggestions and complaints regarding traffic congestion and load images as well as videos on the WhatsApp number: 9779580985.
The WhatsApp messenger service of the Chandigarh Traffic Police was launched today by UT IGP RP Upadhyay to enhance its community policing drive.

Families lose breadwinners

Residents of Faidan village in Jagatpura are mourning the death of two young lads from the area, Sukhdev Singh, aka Sukhi (22) and Sonu (19) the lone breadearners of the family who drowned in the Ghaggar on Wednesday.

Cleaner habitat
Chandigarh: The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), conducted a one-day workshop under the project, SEARCH, for the students of Classes I-X at the Tribune Model School. The aim was to sensitise students to maintain a cleaner habitat. This was followed by poster-making and class-board designing events. The students were informed about the collection of tetra pak cartons for further use. To reduce the cutting of trees, Supriya Gulati and Monmi Barua from TERI, New Delhi, delivered an interactive session in different groups.
Career choices discussed
Chandigarh: St John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA), today organised a vocational guidance seminar at St John’s High School to guide children on various career choices based on their interest and aptitude. The highlight of the event was the commencement of a mentoring programme under the aegis of the Indian School of Business Management.
