108 ambulance service overstaffed

The government is forced to bear expenses of an overstaffed 108 ambulance service. A few months ago when the ambulance service staff had gone on an indefinite strike, the government had recruited new staff, keeping in view the importance of the emergency services.

Beggar gives Civil Hospital staff a tough time

“Mujhe vapis vahin bhej do (send me back from where I came),” shouts a visually impaired beggar, admitted to the drug de-addiction centre at Lord Mahavir Civil Hospital, every few minutes. Beating his “daphali” he makes this appeal, creating a lot of nuisance at
the centre. He is one of the six beggars who have been shifted to the
hospital from the shelter home where they were taken on Saturday.
