Utter chaos prevailed at the Auditorium of Government Medical College and Hospital
(GMCH), Sector 32, during the counselling for admission to MBBS seats today. Candidates hopeful of 100 seats in GMCH for the MBBS course had not applied in other private institutes, as the GMCH prospectus mentioned likelihood of increase in seats from 50 to 100 this year.

Markfed accountant caught taking bribe
Mohali, June 23
The Mohali Vigilance flying squad arrested a senior accountant of Markfed for accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a Markfed department contractor here today.
The accused, Yograj Talwar, posted at Ludhiana, was accepting the bribe amount from the complainant, Jagdip Singh, a resident of Dhilwan village in Ludhiana district when the vigilance sleuths swooped upon him this afternoon.

Pb govt begins channelising Sukhna choe

The Punjab Government finally woke up from its slumber and has started channelising the Sukhna choe water to tackle floods before monsoon sets in.
Officials swung into action after the top brass of the Drainage and Irrigation Department finalised a plan to lay a 2000-foot wide channel on the Sukhna choe bed.
