2 held for demanding bribe 
Ludhiana, June 7
The Jodhewal police arrested two members of the Anti-Corruption Anti-Crime Cell for demanding Rs 50,000 from a chemist at Maya Puri, Tibba Road, Jodhewal, today.

Youth held with 5 gram of heroin
Jagraon, June 7
The police today arrested a youth and recovered 5 gram of heroin from him. The accused has been identified as Lovepreet Singh, a resident of Hans Kalan village near Jagraon.

Two youths hurt as truck hits motorcycle
Ludhiana, June 7
Two youths suffered serious injuries when a truck hit their motorcycle near Ladowal on National Highway-I yesterday. The victims have been identified as Parveen Kumar and Mohit Kumar, residents of Hata Sher Ganj of Ludhiana. They were rushed to Christian Medical College and Hospital.

Shung Ming Chiu has clinched 26th rank in the All-India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT), the result of which was declared today. He secured sixth rank in the state, while Puneet Kaur notched ninth position in the state in the examination. Her all-India rank is 31st.

Spring Dale School organised a weeklong educational programme comprising various lectures, seminars and workshops. A workshop was arranged on ‘Life skills’ by a CBSE-empanelled agency. Role play, poem recitation and various funfilled activities were done by teachers during the workshop.

DTO plans to test applicants’ driving skills on simulators

320 cases disposed of at revenue lok dalat

Two cops under scanner
Khanna, June 7
The Khanna police would soon initiate a departmental inquiry against both the policemen of Doraha police station, who were suspended following their alleged involvement in drug nexus. The alleged accused identified as Davinder Singh and Balpreet Singh were presented in a court today. They were sent to jail in Ludhiana, while police remand of Balpreet was extended up to June 9.
