Storm, rain disturb life:
Electricity supply that was restored after 16 hours here on Monday was disrupted again following dust storm and heavy rain. Water supply, too, has been suspended for the past 21 hours.

3 convicted in robbery case:
A local court on Tuesday convicted three persons, namely Raju, Ram Bilas and Jagram, for robbing cash and jewellery worth Rs 9 lakh by holding Madhurmalti Gupta (70) hostage, a resident of Sector 7 here, last year. The quantum of punishment will be announced on Thursday.

File FIR against ATO: DC
: Deputy Commissioner-cum-Returning Officer (RO) Balraj Singh today directed Karnal SDM-cum-Assistant Returning Officer Sushil Sarwan to lodge an FIR against Assistant Treasury Officer (ATO) Parveen Kumar for not attending the election duty. DR Kairo, CTM-cum-Deputy Election Officer, said Parveen Kumar did not attend even rehearsal for the election duty.

Mental health programme organised by police:
The drug de-addiction centre of the state police on Tuesday organised a school mental health programme as part of its efforts to educate the young generation about ill-effects of drugs. The event was organised at Child Care Educational Institute at Rajbagh area of the city, a police spokesman said. A team of professionals comprising social worker Haris Akbar Kashmiri and counsellors Zahid Jeelani and Fidah Hussain conducted the awareness programme in which more than 100 students and staff participated.

CRPF holds blood donation camp in Valley: The 54th and 144th Battalions of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a blood donation camp on the outskirts of Srinagar on Tuesday. More than 65 CRPF personnel voluntarily donated blood during the camp. The camp was organised with the help of Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital at Nishat. The Inspector General, CRPF, Srinagar, PK Singh, was the chief guest on the occasion.
