The Rs 8 lakh theft that took place outside IndusInd Bank in Sector 9 here was not executed by an ordinary criminal, but had a connection with the notorious Kohra village in Bihar, which is infamous for carrying out such thefts across the country.

Chandigarh Golf Club will have to pay a penalty of Rs 20,000 for displaying a hoarding of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on its premises.
Sources said the Deputy Commissioner (DC) who is also the Returning Officer (RO) has sent a communication to the municipal corporation (MC) for taking action against the club, which was found violating the Chandigarh Advertisement Control Order
(CACO), 1954.

Manisha Mohan, a girl from Chandigarh, has been selected for “Innovation Scholars In-Residence” at the Rashtrapati
Bhavan, New Delhi. Manisha is the daughter of Prof Krishna Mohan at the Department of Geography, Panjab University. Under the scheme, Manisha would stay in the Rashtrapati Bhavan for one month. Four scholars are selected from the country every year in the scheme.

A workshop on Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) was conducted by Dilbaag and Anjali Singh at DC Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 7. The organisers said the aim of the workshop was to diagnose the ADHD children and to focus on their remedial measures. The counselling session will be an effective part of the school programme for 2014-15, which aims at give support to the children suffering from behaviour disorder. Dilbaag, in his address, stressed the importance of crucial role being played by the teachers as students spend maximum time in schools. The school authorities said regular parenting session would also be conducted to make parents aware of this problem so that a concrete solution could be taken to tackle this problem effectively.
