International Women's Day
Fighting odds to carve a niche
Postwoman Bimla Devi delivers a letter at Sector 19 in Chandigarh. She walks in beauty, like the night

And all that's best of dark and bright

Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
Through these lines, Lord Byron describes a woman's beauty that encompasses the best of every physical feature. The 21st Century woman, however, has gone a step ahead, broadening the definition: beauty is in having the vigour and potential to do any task once a woman sets her eyes on it.
