International Women's Day
Fighting odds to carve a niche
She
walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
Through these lines, Lord Byron describes a woman's beauty that encompasses
the best of every physical feature. The 21st Century woman, however, has gone a
step ahead, broadening the definition: beauty is in having the vigour and
potential to do any task once a woman sets her eyes on it.
