Rs 40 lakh liquor seized:The police in the neighbouring Rajasthan today seized 1,000 cases of whisky reportedly loaded at Zirakpur (Punjab). The truck carrying the consignment was intercepted on the National Highway 65. Preliminary investigation indicated that the consignment was concealed under cattle feed bags, which were to be delivered in Gujarat. Those arrested have been identified as Sanjeev Jat of Jhunjhunu, Amit Kumar of Bhawani and Vidya Dhar Swami of Hamirvas.

2 cops killed in mishap:Two Head Constables of Hoshiarpur police were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a car near Mehatpur in Jalandhar on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Rajinder Kumar and Paramjit Singh. They were going to Jagraon to keep guard for the Fateh Rally.

2- day annual athletics meet concludes: The two-day Annual Athletics Meet at SCD Government College concluded today. Cricketer Yashpal Sharma was the chief guest. College principal Rajinder Singh said Sharma had been a great inspiration for millions of cricket fans across the globe.
