The traffic police carried out an awareness march on Ferozepur Road today. As many as 100 traffic police personnel led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Gurdeep Singh started the march from the Police Commissioner's office and culminated it at PAU Gate No 2.

Book released
A literary organisation, Punjabi Ghazal Manch, Punjab, Phillaur, in collaboration with the Punjabi Sahit Academy, Ludhiana, released a book at Punjabi Bhawan. The book comprises of a collection of ghazals by Bhupinder Dulle, a Canadian citizen. The event was presided over by Surjit Patar, Rachhpal Kaur from Canada and Sardar Panchhi. Dr Surjit Patar said ghazals are not only popular in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Parshian, but also in English. Panchhi said Dulle has presented how corruption, bribery and other vices are prevailing in our society today.

Thieves strike at two shops
There seem to be no stopping of theft incidents. In the latest case, thieves struck at a store near the Dhuri Lines and decamped with cash and material worth Rs 2.5 lakh.The incident came to light this morning when the owner of Aggarwal Auto Parts found that his shop was broken into. He raised an alarm and informed the police about it. Meanwhile, sanitary items worth Rs 50,000 were stolen from a shop in Janakpuri. The shop owner, Manvinder Singh Happy, reported the matter to the police.
