All airlines operating at the Chandigarh domestic airport finally revised their flight schedule for the first and third Sunday of every month. The schedule is to be applicable from the next month.

Reason: the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, (MC) is soon going to buy eight generator sets of 125 KVA each to ensure uninterrupted water supply.

P’kula ATMs lack security guards

Even after the unfortunate incident at an ATM in Bangalore, many ATMs in Panchkula are without security guards, endangering the safety of the general public.

Commission rejects MC’s appeal against penalty

The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has dismissed Chandigarh MC’s appeal against the District forum’s order that directed it to pay compensation of Rs 25,000 for booking a park for wedding of complainant’s son while it was already booked by Ram Leela committee.

Forum directs PFCL to pay Rs 50,000

EARS enrolls 11,000 new members

The Emerging Antimicrobial Resistance Society (EARS), a non-profit
organisation, which raised a campaign against antibiotic-resistant bacteria by establishing collaborations with healthcare institutions and research centres across India for the surveillance of bacterial strains resistant to antibiotics, enrolled about 11,000 new members during its nationwide Awareness Week on Antibiotic Knowledge and Education (Awake) campaign, the first initiative of its kind in India, to promote the rational use of antibiotics between November 16 to 23. —
