Industrialists seek VAT refund

Jalandhar, November 8
Criticising the delay in releasing value added tax (VAT) refund, the joint action committee (JAC) of Jalandhar industrialists and traders demanded immediate refund of VAT by the Sales Tax Department.

JAC active members Gursharan Singh, Ravindra Dhir and Raj Kumar Sharma said VAT of several crore rupees of city businessmen was pending with the department.

The city businessmen also sought relaxation from the Parkash Singh Badal-led SAD-BJP government on e-trip, processing fees and regularising policy of various industrial units. The JAC also held a meeting with BJP state president Kamal Sharma at Chief Parliamentary Secretary for Cooperation Krishan Dev Bhandari’s house on Wednesday. The BJP state president assured them of taking up the matter with the government and BJP ministers for providing a relief to businessmen. — TNS
