Frequent changes in govt’s policy play spoilsport

Frequent changes being made in the revised policy for the regularisation of unauthorised colonies by the state government have put a damper on compounding of illegal colonies if the "thinning crowd" at the offices of the regulatory bodies (the municipal corporation within the city limits and the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority outside the municipal limits) is any indication.

Moral values on mind, DC wants students to watch ‘Baghban’

In a bid to inculcate moral values among children to have love and respect for their parents, Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal has directed the district education officers (both primary and secondary) to make arrangements for showing the Hindi blockbuster "Baghban" to students in government schools during the Children's Day celebrations.

Sports Dept fails to organise rural games

failed to organise block and district (inter-block) competitions of rural games
under the Centrally sponsored Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA)
scheme. According to the senior officials of the Sports Department, they did not
receive funds to conduct the games.
