Dengue: 33 more cases reported

Thirty-three more patients tested positive for dengue in the district today. The patients are undergoing treatment in city hospitals, Government Medical College, Patiala, and Gian sagar Medical College, Banur.

Man held for rape bid
Ludhiana, October 24
The police has arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly trying to rape a nine-year-old girl at New Hira Colony in the Jodhewal Basti area yesterday. The accused, identified as Mohd Salman, has confessed to the crime, the police said. He said he offered sweets to the girl and called her to his residence. The girl raised the alarm and her parents came to her rescue. The accused managed to flee, but was arrested today.
