Four booked for molesting girls

Tarn Taran: The Sadar police has booked four residents of Jodhpur village for allegedly molesting some college students. The accused have been identified as Romesh Singh Daljit Singh, Jasbir Singh and Ranjit Singh. A case under Section 354, 341, 324, 323 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against them. Daljit Singh and Jasbir Singh have been arrested while the remaining two are still at large. Satwant Singh, the complainant, alleged that the accused had been harassing girls on their way to college. It was also alleged that the accused attacked the police party when it had gone to the village to inquir about the matter on Friday.

Man booked for abducting minor

Hoshiarpur: A teenaged girl was allegedly abducted by a youth of Sham Chaurasi village on Friday evening purportedly to marry her.The Sadar police yesterday booked Gurdeep Singh of Sham Chaursasi under Sections 363 and 366 A of the IPC. The police said Kashmir Singh of Kodla village alleged that Gurdeep Singh had abducted his sister Gurpreet Kaur (16). 

220 more free medicines for poor

Nawanshahr: Poor patients will soon get 220 more medicines free of cost at government hospitals in the state. Vinni Mahajan, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, said the number of free medicines supplied in government hospitals would now cross 300. Mahajan was here to review the health services in the district. She directed health officials to properly implement various schemes, including Janani Surksha Shishu programme, and stressed deliveries should be conducted by ASHA workers.
