Mystery shrouds PGI doctor’s death

A PGI resident doctor died under mysterious circumstances today. While sources said she died after injecting a dose of a medicine over two weeks ago allegedly in an attempt to commit suicide, that landed her in the ICU, the police said investigations were on to ascertain the exact cause of her death.

Boys keen on taking up women studies at PU

In a reverse trend this year, boys have outnumbered girls in seeking admission in Panjab University's
(PU) Department of Women's Studies. For a total of 17 seats in the MA course — conceptualised with the idea of empowering women — 87 boys have applied this year. The number of girls is 83.
“The trend indicates the rising interest of boys in feminist studies to diversify their knowledge. Increased job opportunities in national and international NGOs can be the other reason,” said a faculty member.
