A 40-year-old security guard, working at a factory in the Industrial Area, was stabbed to death by three unidentified assailants while he was on duty last night. Another worker was critically injured in the attack.

PGI employees plan to boycott visit

In a bid to demonstrate against the PGIMER’s failure in granting one increment to its employees (non-medicos), all permanent employees’ unions have decided to boycott the Union Health Minister’s visit tomorrow. They also took out a candlelit march.

2 convicted in robbery case
Chandigarh, July 5
The Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Shalini Nagpal today convicted two persons in a robbery case. The convicts have been identified as Jai Kishan and Naveen, who were convicted of robbing Amit. The quantum of sentence would be pronounced on Saturday.
