Two women robbed of gold, cash: Two cases of robbery were reported in the district on Monday. Sources said two motorcycle-borne turbaned youths forcibly entered the house of Pushpa Rani in Tanda and robbed her of gold ornaments weighing about 35 gm and Rs 25,000. Four booked for betting: The Samana police arrested four persons for allegedly betting on the IPL final match on Sunday and seized Rs 2 lakh from their possession. The arrested accused have been identified as Kanwarpal Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Devinder Singh and Harpreet Singh. A case under various sections of the Gambling Act and 420 of the IPC has been registered.

Two killed in road mishaps: Two persons were killed and one injured in separate road accidents here on Monday. Balwinder Singh (28) was killed when his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a car near Kalodi village. Gurwinder Singh, who was riding pillion, was injured. In another accident near Nankiana Sahib, Baldev Singh (28) of Thales village was killed when his scooter collided with a car.
