Robbers strike at house in Panchkula

In yet another daring loot in Panchkula, two masked robbers looted gold jewellery by brandishing a knife after barging into a house at Sector 19 here today. This is the third such incident reported from the district in the past three days.

Leakage in PGI sewer plugged; dirty water removed from roads

Dirty water accumulated around the kidney unit and the mortuary at the PGI due to a leakage in a sewer was removed today. The move came a day after Chandigarh Tribune highlighted the inconvenience faced by patients due to foul smell emanating from dirty water.

Liquor vend demolished

The enforcement staff of the land acquisition collector today demolished a liquor vend that was under construction on the acquired land in Raipur Kalan. An official said a complaint had been received about illegal construction going on the government land in village. It was found that the owner was constructing liquor vend without taking any permission from the authorities concerned.
