Conference on career teachers held

Nawashahr, April 28
The district education department in collaboration with KC Group of Institutes organised a district-level conference on career teachers. District Education Officer (DEO) Dinesh Kumar presided over the conference.

The DEO said the conducting of educational and vocational guidance activities in the schools was of paramount importance to make the students aware about various educational and career avenues so that they were capable of facing the challenges of the era of globalisation.

"The career teachers could play a vital role in shaping the career of their students by providing them guidance to chose the right course that suits their aptitude to enable them to tap various career opportunities in their chosen field ", he added. —OC

Household articles worth Rs 1.5 lakh were destroyed in a fire accident at Bazidpur village here today. Gurmukh Singh, owner of the house, while attributing the fire accident to short circuit of electricity said smoke emanating from the store was noticed in the morning. The fire was put off with the help of neighbours and the fire brigade. —OC
