Youth convicted of murder in P’kula

The court today convicted a domestic help, who was accused of killing a 65-year-old woman and injuring three others at Sector 12, Panchkula, for robbery. The accused was identified as Akhilesh. He was later arrested in August 2011.

Chandigarh lad Alok Kumar, a former Asian champion, confirmed a medal for the country by entering into the semifinal match of the 12th ONGC Asian Billiards Championship 2013 being held at Tennis Club, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. After finishing as third seed in the round robin stage, Alok was placed in quarterfinals to play with his compatriot and sixth seed B Bhaskar.
