The property tax meeting, which was scheduled for tomorrow (March 17), has been postponed once again. The meeting was to be held to announce the "proposed" rates of land in the city.

Man hurt in armed attack

Fear gripped the residents of Akhara village, 6 km from Jagraon, when armed assailants allegedly attacked a middle-aged man and opened fire at him this morning. The victim, however, escaped with minor injuries on the back.

Man gets life term for rape, murder of minor
Ludhiana, March 16
The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Mandeep Pannu has convicted Sukhjit Singh, alias Sukhi, of Nai Abadi, Manku Motor Wali Gali, Samrala Road, Khanna, to rigorous life imprisonment on the charges of raping and murdering a six-and-a-half-year-old girl.
