Nishant beats Karun in U-16 boys’ tennis tourney:Nishant Sandhu of Haryana outplayed Punjab’s Karun Bhandari 9-4 in boys’ U-16 AITA Talent Series Tournament, organised by the Punjab State Lawn Tennis Association, today. @@Held at Maharaja Ranjit Singh lawn tennis ground in Ram Bagh, Atul Patel of Haryana routed Divyanshu Verma of Punjab 9-0. @@In other matches of the same age group, Abhinav Mahajan of Punjab beat Palav Dev 9-3, Suraj Kumar defeated Muneet Singla 9-1, Vikas Kumar defeated Suneet 9-0, Manav defeated Aman 9-7, and Ranjeet Singh outplayed Robin Kapoor 9-2.

State players excel in bench press title: Varundeep Sharma and Amit Anand of the state excelled in the recently concluded North India Raw Bench Press Championship held at Shri Amarnath Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar here. Varundeep Sharma clinched two silver medals in 90kg class while Amit Anand managed to fetch gold medal in 60 kg category.
