Monica's 'suicide' scene recreated
Chandigarh, October 20
With the death of a teacher earlier this week still remaining a mystery whether it was a murder by her in-laws or a case of suicide, a team of the Central Forensic Scientific Laboratory (CFSL) today reconstructed the scene of her death by hanging a dummy from the ceiling fan at the Sector 21 residence of the victim. As the horrifying tragedy was reconstructed, Monica's relatives were in tears, reliving the trauma.

No clue to missing ‘arhtiya’
Ambala, October 20
The arhtiya of Ambala City grain market, who has been missing for last three days, could not be traced till now. Pawan Kumar had gone to Darpur village, close to Chhachhrauli, on Tuesday to meet his sick father but neither he reached there nor he returned. His scooter was found abandoned near the Bhakra canal at Jansui village. His mobile phone is also lying switched off since Tuesday noon. The wife of the victim is a school teacher at Ambala City.

Three arrested with poppy husk
Mohali, October 20
The local police has nabbed three persons and recovered 1.5 quintal poppy husk from them. However, one of their accomplice managed to flee here today.The accused were identified as Palwinder Singh, a resident of Kurali, Baljinder Singh of Ropar and Balkar Singh, a resident of Phase 1, Mohali. Karnail Singh, another accused, managed to flee from the spot.

Punjab claim 6-wicket win in U-19 tourney

Punjab’s under-19 cricket team defeated Haryana by six wickets in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy match at the PCA Stadium, Mohali, today. After electing to bat first, the visiting side managed to score only 132 runs. Lovekesh Kumar (46) and Mohit Mann (23) were the top scorers.
