PU gets software to detect plagiarism

Copying material for PhD thesis from researches already done across the world would not be possible anymore as Panjab University has purchased a software to detect plagiarism. The software, named Turnitin, is adept at identifying plagiarism from all the researches available online. The university has spent over Rs 2 lakh on the software.

Mohali seeks more ctu routes

The district administration asked the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) to increase its reach within the district by introducing new bus routes. The CTU is said to have agreed to start the new routes soon.

PUCSC reaches out to hostel residents

In a bid to address the grievances of the Panjab University students residing in the university hostels, the Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC) is going to launch a program "Students Council at Doorstep". Under the programme, students will be asked to report their problems to the student council based on which a report card of each hostel will be prepared.

Two persons were killed in a road accidents near Lalru on Saturday. As per the information one accident occurred near ITI Chowk, Lalru, in which a woman was killed.

A couple was killed in a road accident when their car had a head on collision at Asron, Nawan Shahr district, today. The deceased have been identified as Manmohan Singh (55) and Jasvinder Kaur, belonging to Hargobind Nagar of Ropar City.

Another complaint filed against Royale Empire owner

A security agency registered a complaint with the Panchkula police against the owner of Royale Empire, Jeevan Garg, and his son Prince Garg. The accused were arrested recently for duping a number of people.

4 arrested with 2 kg opium
Panchkula, September 22
Four persons, including a woman, were arrested by the Panchkula detective staff for being involved in drug trafficking here today. They were arrested from their residence in Sector 15. The police has seized 2 kg of milk opium.

2 city players make it to U-16 national football team

Soccer players, Daniel Lalhlimpuia and Arjit Lalramzuava of Government Model High School, Sector 36, and trainees of the Chandigarh Football Academy, were selected in the national team for Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Tournament of boys (U-16).
