MC panel fails to deliver

The Slum Colonies and Village Development Committee, a sub-committee of Municipal Corporation, has failed to live up to the expectation of the residents.
The members of the committee seem not to be interested enough to address the issues concerning people residing in slum areas.

For the families of those who became victims of the killer stretch or the 'irresponsible authorities', they say it is dark world for them as they have lost everything. Thanks to the Panchkula police and other authorities that the families are living a sad, desolate black life with tears in their eyes most of the time.

Out of the all the accident-prone areas, the Panchkula-Barwala road is known the 'most infamous killer stretch', which has claimed maximum number of lives and many persons injured. About 23 fatal and 25 non-fatal accidents have taken place from January 1, 2012 till date.

HUDA, MC pass the buck

The master plan committee has proposed to make city’s markets and other busy points pedestrian friendly for city residents. In the master plan, they have proposed to make subways on many V-3 roads between the sectors in the city. Besides, the committee has also proposed to make busy markets of the city a no-vehicle zone.
Municipal corporation removes encroachments from Bapu Dham Colony

The municipal corporation enforcement department removed encroachment from a green belt in the Bapu Dham colony, Sector 26, yesterday. Officials said the action was taken by the department after a complaint was received from the residents about encroachment in the green belt.

The PU syndicate rejected the request made by Gul Panag, a bollywood actress from Chandigarh, seeking permission to complete her studies. Gul Panag, who was a political science student in the correspondence department of Panjab University, had written to the university to allow her to complete her MA which she left in 2002.

Recount votes: PUSU candidate

(PUSU) vice-presidential candidate who lost with a low margin of 45 votes has demanded recounting of votes. Interestingly, 677 votes were found invalid for the post, following which candidate Smriti Brar has demanded recounting.
