A minor girl of Khuyiansarwar village was allegedly raped by a youth, who got the crime video-graphed and circulated the video, which was later leaked on the Internet. As per the case registered at the Khuyiansarwar police station under Section 376 of the IPC and the Cyber Crime Act, a youth from village Dabwala Kalan met the girl at a marriage function in the village. He proposed to marry her, took her to a field on March 25 and allegedly raped her. The crime was video-graphed. He later refused to marry the victim. No arrest has so far been made.

HAU hostellers protest: Residents of the postgraduate married hostel at Haryana Agricultural University staged a protest on Tuesday outside the residence of the Vice-Chancellor. They were provoked by reports that the university administration planned to oust them and convert the hostel into a girls hostel.

Cash, gold recovered: The police has recovered Rs 55,000, 1.5 tolas of gold and a motorcycle used in crime during their one-day police remand from four persons who were arrested in a chain snatching case. The accused have been identified as Sandeep, Bhupender, Ravinder and Rajbir. During interrogation, they confessed to four cases of chain snatching.

Man dies: Mangu Ram of Sultanpur district in Kurukshetra succumbed to his injuries at LNJP Hospital here on Wednesday. His bicycle was hit by a motorcycle near Dhanaura Jattan village on Tuesday.

Gold bangles looted: A woman was robbed of two gold bangles worth Rs 1 lakh by a car driver and its two women occupants near the Mohan Nagar Chowk here on Wednesday. Immediately after registering the case, the police cordoned the area of incident to nab the culprits but in vain.

ASI injured: ASI Surjan Singh was seriously injured when lightning struck an antenna of a wireless set at the Kasaula police station on Tuesday night. When lightning struck the antenna, Surjan Singh was sitting beside the wireless set in a room of the police station.

Yadav elected: Siddharth Yadav was unanimously elected president of Rewari Press Club at a meeting of its members here recently. A coordination committee comprising Tarun Jain, Ashok Wadhwa, Pradeep Narain and Shashi Saini was also constituted. Yadav said an executive committee of the press club would be constituted soon.

Youth killed as motorbike skids off road: A pillion rider was killed today at Dosraka, near Hamirpur, when the motor cycle he was riding skidded off the road. The police said Ankur Dharmani and his friend Rohit, both belonging to Bajroh, Ghumarwin, were going towards Bhota from Hamirpur, when their bike skidded off the road killing Ankur (21) on the spot. Rohit was also injured in the accident.

House burgled: Burglars committed theft in a house at Kutbasi in Jawali subdivision last night. No family member of house owner Harbans Lal was in the house when the theft was committed. The burglars broke open a cupboard and decamped with gold and silver jewellery worth about Rs 1.72 lakh and Rs 15,000 cash.

According to police information, no family member of house owner Harbans Lal was in the house when the theft was committed. The burglars broke open a cupboard in the house and decamped with gold and silver jewellery worth about Rs 1.72 lakh and Rs 15,000 cash. The police has registered a case under Sections 457 and 380, IPC, and started investigations.
