PNDT cell’s toll-free number re-started

Bathinda, June 20
The toll free number, 1091, of the PNDT cell, Bathinda, has been re-started. In a press statement issued today, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development)-cum-vice-president of the PNDT Cell, Mohammad Taiyyab said anyone can inform about the malpractice of sex selective abortion or screening of foetus for gender at this number. 

The identity of the informer would be kept secret. Anyone informing the PNDT Cell about sex selective abortion being carried out would be awarded Rs 5,100 by the District Red Cross Society, while Rs 100 would be given regarding information given about the expecting women.—TNS
