Bathinda
Two booked under IT Act
: Two youngsters, including a resident of Jalandhar and Bathinda, have been booked by the police under various sections of the Information and Technology Act and cheating. The boys identified as Devinder Singh of Mithu Basti, Jalandhar and Aman a resident of Bathinda were accused of hacking a Facebook account of a girl and misusing it. Surinder Singh, residing near Hajirattan Gate said that accused obtained the password of his daughter's Facebook account on the internet and misused it. The accused also blackmailed his daughter. A case under Sections 420, 468, 469, 471 of the IPC and 67-A of the IT Act has been registered against the accused at Kotwali police station.

Two held with 500 gm heroin
:The local police arrested Gurbhej Singh and Gursewak Singh, both residents of Saidon village with 500 gm of heroin. The recovered contraband is estimated to be over Rs 2.5 crore in the international market.

KAITHAL
Four killed
: Four persons were killed on the spot and one was seriously injured following a head-on collision between two trucks on Thursday. All four deceased belonged to Rajasthan. The police has registered a case against one of the drivers on the complaint by the injured victim, Mulla Ram. It is learnt that one of the drivers lost control over his vehicle presuambly due to drowsiness following which both vehicles collided.

Horticulture
: To promote horticulture activities under the National Horticulture Mission, Rs 5 crore was spent against the budget of Rs 7.33 crore during the last financial year in this district. This was stated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sumedha Kataria while presiding over a meeting of officers at her office on Thursday.

Road blocked
: Angry villagers blocked the Fatehabad-Chandigarh road near Barsin village against scarcity of drinking water and electricity, while kin of a dowry death victim blocked the road near Jandli to force the arrest of her in-laws on Thursday. SDM Baljit Singh, who had a tough time convincing agitators to open the blockages, later, came in for flak from workers of the Public Health Department, who alleged that the officer slapped a worker.

:The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) will conduct a screening-cum-coaching camp for senior and junior women from June 11 at GGM Science College hostel ground. Interested girls are directed to report to coach

Uddhav bags silver :Uddhav Pratap Vohra, son of Samir Vohra, a student of KV No 1 Jammu and Vishal Academy of Tae Kwon Do (VAOT), has bagged a silver medal in U-7 age group (junior boys category) in the recently concluded 1st J&K Tae Kwon Do Championship. The championship was organised by the J&K Tae Kwon Do Association under the aegis of Taekwondo Federaton of India at multi-purpose hall, MA Stadium.

She shouted for help, but they accused managed to flee.
