Bathinda
School organises summer tour for kids:
The Different Convent School, Ghudda, organised a summer tour to Kullu, Manali, Manikaran and Rohtang for its students. As many as 20 students participated in the five-day- long camp. At Rohtang, the students were taken to the local Hidimba temple, Siyali Mahadev, Club House and Tibetan Monastery. At Manikaran, the students enjoyed taking a bath in the warm waters of the Garm Goofa. Teachers Harpreet Kaur and Gurpreet Kaur accompanied the students on the tour.

City resident arrested with 60 kg of poppy husk: A resident of Ganesha Basti has been arrested with 60 kilogramme of poppy husk. A case under various Sections of NDPS Act has been registered against him at Sadar police station. Police officials said that Tinku was arrested on a tip off provided by one of the informers. He was produced in the court after a case was registered against him.

Heatwave claims life:
Ashok Kaura:A villager, identified as Ashok Kumar died at his residence at village Akalgarh .Heat Stroke was said to be the cause of death, said Senior Medical Officer Dr Rajiv Gupta. He was immediately brought to the Civil Hospital, but was declared brought dead. The Dead Body was handed over to his family members after the post-mortem.

Gym owner injured: A Gym Owner identified as Marninder Singh was allegedly attacked and seriously wounded with sharp-edged weapons by some armed assailants on local Banga Road.The injured was admitted in local Civil Hospital. The Police has registered a case against unknown assailants said SP, HPS Khakh.

12 students get placements:
A joint placement drive for electronics students was organised by Net Communication. The process started with a pre-placement talk by officials of the company. This was followed by a technical interview. Students selected in technical interview appeared for the final HR interviews. Finally, 12 students were selected during the drive.

Faridabad
10 booked:
As many as 10 persons were booked for illegal sand mining from the banks of Yamuna in Alipur village on Monday. The accused have been identified as Sachin, Farook, Subash, Nafe, Saurav, Jeetender, Inder, Lala, Mahaveer and Sanjay.

FIR registered: The police has registered an FIR against Rishi Raj of Noida and three others for torturing his wife for dowry and threatening to kill her if the latter’s parents failed to meet their demand. The FIR has been registered on the complaint of the woman who alleged that her in-laws started making demands for dowry after she got married.

Water supply: The Municipal Corporation Faridabad has conceded a long standing demand of residents of Sihi village and its neighbouring areas here to augment water supply. MLA Anand Kaushik has laid the foundation stone for a water booster pump in a well.
