Ban on transfers lifted for one month: The state government today lifted the blanket ban on general transfers for one month from June 1.
An official spokesman said here today that the ministers in charge would be competent to effect transfers in their respective departments during this period up to the class-II level, subject to other policy norms.

Woman found burnt alive: Bimla, an elderly woman was found burnt alive near Buria police station late last night. The police noticed the body this morning when some passersby informed it.
The police took the body to the civil hospital, Jagadhri, for a postmortem examination. The police has taken the woman’s son in custody.
