Admn to have 4 new officers

The UT Administration is all set to have four new officers from the neighbouring states of Punjab and
Haryana. Their names have been approved either by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has failed to anticipate the expected response to the Purab Premium Apartments Scheme and went all out to get 1.25 lakh brochures printed for the project and received less than 12,000 applications.
UT Industrial Area the pits

Despite more than six hotels, including two five-stars, number of malls and shopping complexes coming up in the Industrial Area, the UT Administration and Municipal Corporation (MC) have failed to upgrade the basic infrastructure here.
Industrialists complained that the bitumen-layer of a majority of internal roads has been peeled off and wild growth has virtually taken over the parks with garbage scattered all around.
Extension to liquor vend bugs residents of Panchkula
Panchkula, April 25
Residents and shopkeepers of Maheshpur village, Sector 21, today protested against the extension given to a liquor vend in the village on the National Highway-22.

Brar, the residents alleged that even though they were forced to demolish some portion of the houses and shops in the village on the highway, nothing had been done against the owner of the liquor vend who continued to run his business in the area.

74 lives snuffed out in road mishaps
Mohali, April 25
At least 74 lives were snuffed out in 73 fatal accidents that took place in Mohali district in the first three months of this year.
In 2011, the district had witnessed 61 fatal accidents that had claimed about 66 lives.
Shivraj Patil shares knowledge of technology with management body

Administrator UT Chandigarh, Shivraj V Patil, presided over Chandigarh Management Association’s management day function here today.
He said technology can be of three kinds: One which is relevant to the needs of the areas and people; two which can be useful to all in all parts of the world, but not very advanced and three which can be of advanced and of futuristic nature. Patil said the first category of technology has to be produced by those who need them, and to whom they are relevant.
