Senior officials of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), district administration and the police department will meet tomorrow for getting the low and high-tension wires removed from Sahnewal to the Jalandhar bypass as these were creating hurdles. The project of widening the 32-kilometer corridor, which was taken up by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), has been reportedly moving at a slow pace due to this.

10-year-old boy dies of burn injuries

In a shocking incident, a 10- year- old boy succumbed to his burn injuries after reportedly catching fire at his house in the Dhandari area here today.
The incident took place here this afternoon when residents saw the victim, identified as Gurpartap Singh, a student of Class IV student, in flames.

A flying squad of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) to curb copying in the board examination got success when it caught 17 students copying in the second semester math examinations of class X today.
All these cases were registered by the flying squad team led by Surinder Singh Gerewal from Hmabran and Bhoondri villages.
Delay in road construction annoys residents, shopkeepers

Delay in the construction of a road on the Railway Road has annoyed those living in localities situated on this road. The residents have criticised the local municipal council for its failure to get the road constructed within a stipulated time.
