2 youths killed:
Two youths were killed in a mishap near Sirsaud village on Tuesday. The victims were identified as Raju and Sumit of Budan village. The accident took place when their car went out of control after hitting a speed breaker and rammed into a truck.

HRTC driver gets 3-month jail
:
Judicial Magistrate, Mandi, Rajesh Chauhan has sentenced HRTC driver Keshav Lal of Bilaspur to three-month jail after he was found guilty of rash and negligent driving. He was also fined Rs 1,000 in the case. According to prosecution, HRTC bus Keshav was driving hit Shakrudin at Kenchi Morh in June 2006.

Man falls from cliff, dies:
A man died after falling from a cliff in the Danya area of Almora. According to information, 45-year-old Kundan Singh of Dashaula Badiyar village in Bhanauli tehsil of Almora district was returning home when he fell down from a cliff. The body has been handed over to his family after a post-mortem examination. In another incident, one person died after falling from his bicycle in Rudrapur town of Udham Singh Nagar district. The deceased has been identified as Pappu. He was employed in a hotel on Kitcha Road. He fell down from his bicycle while he was going for his duty. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Leopard injures two-year-old: A leopard managed to take away a two-year-old child from his home in Bageshwar district. However, on being chased by villagers, it left the child at some distance and fled the spot. The child, Manish Rawat of Nail Amtoda village, has sustained multiple injuries and is being treated at the District Hospital.

One held with 72 chickens:Keeping tabs on the persons involved in cruelty against animals, the police in Kashipur town of Udham Singh Nagar district have arrested one person and seized 72 chickens from his possession. The accused, Salauddin of Mohalla Nayak Sara of Afzalgarh, was allegedly transporting the birds in a cruel manner in a rickshaw. He was arrested on the border of the two states of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
