One held with pistol

Jalandhar, January 11
The Nakodar police today arrested a person and recovered a country-made pistol along with a live cartridge from him.
Sources said the police had erected a naka at Kapurthla Chowk and on suspicion asked a person for checking. On search, the police recovered one country-made pistol and a live round from his possession.The arrested person has been identified as Gurvinder, alias Guggu, resident of Shahkot. A case under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act was registered against him. Meanwhile,
the police said a country-made pistol was recovered from Sandeep Singh,
alias Sunny, resident of Preet Nagar, Nakodar, who was recently arrested
by the police, during interrogation.Cases under Sections 307, 323, 341,
427, 324, 452, 506, 148, 149 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of
the Arms Act had already been registered against him at Nakodar police
station in 2007 and 2011.
