3 die in accidents
Phagwara, January 1
Rohit Kumar was killed while Gurdip and Kulwinder sustained serious injuries when the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a parked potatoes-loaded tractor-trailer on the Noormahal-Nakodar road last night.

Three booked for assault
Batala, January 1
The police booked three persons for beating four persons and vandalising their car here today. Sukhwinder Singh, Kanwaljit Singh, Sarabjit Singh and Gurdip Singh, residents of Masania village, complained to the police at Vadala Granthian that they had a minor scuffle with Sandeep Singh, resident of the same village at a marriage party.

Phagwara, January 1
Rohit Kumar was killed while Gurdip and Kulwinder sustained serious injuries when the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a parked potatoes-loaded tractor-trailer on the Noormahal-Nakodar road last night.

In another mishap, a local resident, Pardeep Singh, was killed when the car in which he was going collided with another car on the Phagwara-Banga bypass last night.

The police has registered cases and sent the bodies to Civil Hospitals for postmortem.

Pathankot: One person was crushed to death by a train while crossing the rail tracks here on Saturday. The victim, identified as Buta Masih, was working with the Railways as a labourer. The Government Railway Police (GRP) has sent the body to the Civil Hospital for postmortem.

The police booked three persons for beating four persons and vandalising their car here today. Sukhwinder Singh, Kanwaljit Singh, Sarabjit Singh and Gurdip Singh, residents of Masania village, complained to the police at Vadala Granthian that they had a minor scuffle with Sandeep Singh, resident of the same village at a marriage party.

When they were returning, Sandeep Singh and two other persons beat them up and vandalised their car with iron rods near Sangatpura village.

Darshan Singh, ASI, said a case under Sections 323, 341, 421, 506 and 34 of the IPC was registered against the trio.

House burgled

Pathankot: Gold ornaments weighing about 30 tolas and cash were stolen from the house of Pawan Kumar at Bank Colony, Shastri Nagar, here on Saturday night. The owner had gone to a relative’s house. The police has registered a case.

Cell phones stolen

Phagwara: A mobile phone shop in the Tibbi locality was burgled last night. The burglars entered the shop after breaking the locks and took away 32 mobile phones, talk-time cards worth Rs 12,000 and Rs 5,000 from the shop.The police has registered a case.
