Boy beats up doctor
Chandigarh, November 21
Unable to bear the shock of his mother’s death, a class X student of Naya Gaon thrashed a doctor at the GMSH, Sector 16, here today.
The boy started beating up the doctor when he declared his mother was brought
dead. Dr Ashok Kumar posted at the emergency unit was taken aback as the boy
charged at him soon after he declared that his mother Karam Jeet Kaur, who had
been rushed to the emergency, was already dead.
One-kanal plot fetches GMADA whopping Rs 4.6 crore

GMCH doctor personates as HoD

(GMCH), Sector 32. A doctor of the community medicine department, Dr NK Goel, who had been misrepresenting facts by personating himself as the head of the department
(HoD) for the past several years, has been allowed to go scot free by the hospital authorities.

“I do not want any parent to undergo the agony that we went through after the kidnapping of our son Khushpreet,” said Kulwinder Kaur, mother of Khushpreet who was kidnapped and later killed. She has announced her candidature for the coming municipal corporation (MC) elections scheduled for December 17.

The UT State Election Commission today announced the election schedule for municipal corporation (MC) elections, scheduled for December 17.
Briefing mediapersons, UT State Election Commissioner Rakesh Mehta said candidates could file their nomination papers from November 21 to 28.

Vigilance for action against senior assistant

The vigilance cell has sent its report on the case of missing petrol, worth Rs 12 lakh, from the Sector-56 filling station, being run by the Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Corporation (CITCO), to it, recommending action against a senior assistant of CITCO.

LPG dealers in Panchkula have decided to call off their strike. They held a meeting with Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Ashima Brar who assured them of doing the needful. “ The DC said she would take up the issue with the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA),” said Manoj Nangia, secretary, All-India LPG Distributor Federation, North West region.
Police tightens noose around drunk drivers

In order to tighten noose around tipsy drivers, the district police will send a request to the local court authorities to keep the offenders under arrest till sunrise. Panchkula Superintendent of Police Maneesh Chaudhary said the practice was being followed in Chandigarh and in Panchkula and it would definitely yield good results.
