The Chandigarh police today recreated the accident scene involving the Range Rover owned by international golfer Jeev Milkha Singh, by taking the driver of the SUV to the Panchkula light point and making him walk the same way he walked on October 31 when the accident took place involving an Alto.

P’kula roads, parks to be repaired
Panchkula, November 18
Waking up to the repeated grievances of residents, the Panchkula Municipal Corporation now has taken an initiative to repair roads and parks in the town. While tenders for the works over Rs 2.5 crore have already been passed and sent for approval of the commissioner, on Monday tenders for works worth Rs 3 crore was floated, KK Jain, executive officer of the Municipal Corporation said.
It is for the first time this year that the corporation is spending money on the repair and development works in the town despite several complaints from the local house welfare associations.

Food company violates Water Act

During a surprise check by the environmental engineer of Punjab Pollution Control Board, nodal office, Mohali, M/s Shivalik Food (India) Limited, Focal Point, Chanalon, was found discharging its untreated industrial effluent directly into a sewer. The samples have been collected and were sent to a laboratory for analysis. The industry is engaged in the processing of milk and manufacturing of ghee and skimmed milk.
