VAT registration facility goes online

Traders have been provided with the facility of online registration of VAT numbers. The excise and taxation department has provided this facility to taxpayers to save time. After getting themselves registered online, taxpayers will be allotted a temporary number and after submitting all the documents with the department manually, a permanent 11-digit VAT number will be provided to them.

An alert Borstal Jail security guard reportedly seized 50 gm of brown sugar, costing Rs 5 lakh in the international market, that was being hidden in a shampoo bottle and was being sneaked inside the jail premises.
