Ventilators lying unused

In yet another example of how scarce resources are squandered, thanks to official apathy and sheer lack of planning of those at the helm, two life-saving ventilators, which as such are always in short supply at the PGI, are lying unused and in a condemned state for the past many years in Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH-16).

Home Guard held for theft at police station

A Home Guard volunteer with the Chandigarh Police, who is the son of a UT police Sub-Inspector, was today arrested for allegedly stealing a motorcycle belonging to his father’s colleague, also a Sub-Inspector, from the parking premises of a police station.
Duronto engine delinks from bogies

UT yet to set up Consumer Protection Council

In the 15-day-old incident of two motorcycle-borne youths throwing acid on three occupants of a car, Rakesh Reikhy, a proprietor of Rudraksh Immigration, Phase I, and two girls, Shivatika and Shifali, near the busy Daun petrol filling station, Kharar, one of the victims, Shivatika, has succumbed to her injuries at the PGI today.
