Healthyway Fraud
2 yrs, 150 complaints,
no action

Speaking volumes about the police inefficiency, cops at the Sector 36 police station failed to act in over 150 complaints that were received against the owner of Healthyway Immigration in Sector 42 in the past two years.
While seven cases have been registered against Healthyway owner Amit Kakkar earlier this week, sources said the police had been receiving complaints against the consultancy all these years.

Though he has allegedly raked in crores by duping clients across the region on fake promises of easy migration overseas, the owner of Healthyway Immigration seems to have learnt no lesson from the police action taken against him.
Auto-rickshaw gang strikes again

A gang of auto-rickshaw drivers struck again in the city last night making three apple traders from Kullu their target. At knifepoint, three assailants robbed Rs 1.5 lakh from the traders who had hired the auto-rickshaw to the Sector 43 ISBT.
UT eviction order leaves Central Club members shaken

City law firm to aid aviation operators

Unhappy ending to online courtship

Pursuing a local girl in the hope for a future relationship on the internet ended up causing considerable agony to a Jaipur youth and his parents. The process began about nine months ago when, in a bid to woo the 20 year-old girl, the 17-year-old youth replaced his photo with that of a handsome man on his Facebook profile.

A bumpy welcome to Sector 7

A dilapidated park and potholed roads welcome visitors entering Sector 7, one of the oldest localities in the town. The roads of the sector have given way to the ongoing construction in the area which has caused big potholes that are submerged in the rainwater.

The mini-secretariat area must be the only place in Panchkula where a person is charged double the amount for parking vehicles that too on a muddy, uneven ground with hardly any proper space. Hundreds of people, who visit the mini-secretariat and district court complex, face this situation daily.

Consumers’ body seeks check on overcharging
Mohali, August 20
The Consumers Protection Federation has demanded a check on overcharging, underweighing and sale of spices at Apni Mandis here.
In a letter to the Punjab Mandi Board, the Mohali Deputy Commissioner and the MC Commissioner, federation president PS Virdi said at mandis, vegetables were often sold at prices that were 15 per cent to 30 per cent higher than the those fixed.
Special train to Shirdi
Chandigarh, August 20
A special Bharat Darshan train from Chandigarh to Shirdi is being run by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on August 23. A spokesman of the corporation said the train would start from Chandigarh Railway Station at 6 am and reach Manmar Railway Station on August 24 at 10 pm.
‘Admn block officials not tech savvy’

Officials of the computer centre at Panjab University have put the blame on officials of the administration block for causing a delay in computerisation of the university.
Claiming that a majority of officials like to do work manually, the centre has asked the registrar to intervene in the matter.
