Husband convicted of killing wife

A local court here today convicted a husband for killing his wife. Meanwhile the court acquitted four other family members. The case dates back to October 2010.
Illegal mining continues, 76 cases registered
Panchkula, August 5
While the ban on mining in rivers of the district has pushed up the prices of sand and gravel in the area, it has activated the unscrupulous elements involved in the illegal mining. The District Mining Department had registered as many as 76 cases of illegal mining in the district during the previous month and imposed a penalty of Rs. 6,15,400 on the violators.

The local police today booked a resident of Lalru in a theft case on the complaint of Bhim Sen, an owner of Electromax India Limited. The accused has been identified as Sampuran Singh, alias Bhura, a resident of Hasanpur, Lalru.
