A college principal’s exit and the appointment of another could not have been more dramatic. Following a day long drama that saw squabbling and verbal spats, DAV, Sector 10 ended up being the first college to have two principals - one who refused to let go off his chair and the other appointed in a most unceremonious way.

A resident of Fatehgarh Jattan village in Machhiwara today reportedly committed suicide by jumping from a tower of a mobile company after being ragged in a college of Mandi Gobindgarh.

“We’ve lost all hope. We don’t have any food nor a roof to cover our heads”, bewailed Mukesh, the 12-year-old son of Govind Singh Rana, who was murdered in Badheri village yesterday. His mother, Maheshwari, 30, was arrested on charges of killing her husband at their rented accommodation.
