A talent hunt competition was organised at Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town Extension, yesterday. At least 112 students of class IV took part in the competition. Young dancers attired in traditional and colourful costumes performed pahari, Haryanvi, Rajasthani and Punjabi folk dances on varied themes.

Hospital claims complex urological reconstruction

A six-year-old girl, who fell down from a height in March, had sustained pelvic and vaginal injury. Due to this injury, she had suffered complete loss of her urethra (urinary tube for passing urine), which dissociated from bladder and a passageway developed between the urinary and reproductive path due to the accident.

Pharmacists’ body demands regularisation of jobs

The rural health pharmacists of Ludhiana district called upon the state government to fulfill their long pending demands. In a meeting convened today in Ludhiana at Rakh Bagh, the Rural Health Pharmacists’ Association, Punjab, demanded regularisation of jobs of the pharmacists working under the Zila Parishads, recruitments of qualified pharmacists in village dispensaries, implementation of the Pharmacy Act and pay package as per the pay scale for the pharmacists.
