Swine flu has taken its first toll in the tricity this year, with the death of a Sector 36 resident at Fortis Hospital in Mohali late last night.
Gurmeet Singh (43) was admitted to the hospital under critical condition last week.

LR prepares strong case against GMSH staffers

With the prices of apples hitting a low of Rs 25-40 per kg (less than most vegetables), it is time to have as much of the fruit as possible. With incessant rains and floods hitting transportation and supply of vegetables to the city, price of potatoes and onion have shot up by Rs 2 per kg in the past two days. The price of lady finger, too, has shot up by Rs 5 a kg, with the vegetable now retailing at Rs 35 a kg.
