Artistes perform at the Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh on Saturday. The much-awaited bonanza of Indian classical music and dance, the Bhaskar Rao Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan unfolded the magic of Odissi dance and the electrifying jugalbandi by Barman Bandhus at the Tagore Theatre here today.The annual programme organised by the Pracheen Kala Kendra featured the doyenne of Odissi dance Meera Das, who commenced with traditional invocatory “Mangalacharan” followed by “Nritta”, the pure dance by Meera Das and her seven-member group.

Man held for stealing
Chandigarh, March 13 The police has arrested Kamru Din, a resident of Moti Lal Nagar, Mumbai, for allegedly stealing two gold chains, earrings and a gold ring.
In her complaint, Sudha Chagraj, resident of Vikash Nagar Kudnoor, Kerala, alleged that the accused was caught red handed while stealing the ornaments from her room at a hotel in Sector 22 on Friday.
