Industrialists elated over Centre’s decision

The recent announcement made by the ministry of commerce, government of India, to add 15 new products in the list of the special products has come as a good news for the industrialists in this part of region as about 80 per cent of these products are manufactured in Punjab, especially in Ludhiana. Besides these 15 products, 30 new products have also been added under the special focus product category by the Central government.

Medicine factory workers stage dharna

A large number of workers yesterday staged a dharna in front of the medicine factory due to non-payment of salary by the management for the past two months. There are at least 46 workers working in Illmack Pharmacy situated at Bangsipur village near Sidhwan Bet. The workers raised slogans against the factory management for ill-treating and threatening them when they asked for their wages, which were pending for the past two months.
