Bidders told to give names before auction

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) is all set to crack its whip on the property cartel in the city. In the forthcoming auction of commercial and residential sites, the authority has decided not to allow “sleeping partners” to participate in auctions. “It has been seen that after a property is auctioned, the sleeping partners crop up to get their names entered in the respective property,” said officials in the authority.
