Flyover
68 to get alternative shop sites

The civic Shops in the way of the construction of a ramp for a flyover in Ludhiana administration today took another step towards the resumption of construction on the proposed flyover in place of the Lakkar Pul in the wake of the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to take up the work in a fixed time frame.

Blocking of chowk makes shopkeepers see red

Shopkeepers have decided to oppose the municipal corporation’s decision to block a chowk on the Gill road for raising a flyover. This move would block the easy approach to shops and is a cause for sleepless nights to nearly 50 shopkeepers and dhaba owners who fear their business would be hit. Some of them expressed their apprehension that they might have to close down their business and shift elsewhere if the authorities close the road.
